Everton 1-2 Man Utd: Ronaldo scores 700th club goal to seal Red Devils victory

Manchester United defeated Everton 2-1 in their Premier League match on Sunday. A dominant display saw Erik ten Hag’s men celebrate their sixth Premier League victory of the season.

700th club goal for Ronaldo!

Everton stunned their guests with an early opener, finding the back of the net only five minutes into the game.

A lovely curler from Alex Iwobi made it 1-0 for the Toffees, but the Red Devils were quick in their comeback.

Only ten minutes later, an assist from Anthony Martial found Antony, who scored United’s equalizer with a fine left-footed finish.

United looked ready to turn the game around but then came Martial’s unexpected injury. Ten Hag replaced the Frenchman with Cristiano Ronaldo, who went on to seal Man Utd’s win just before half-time.

The Portuguese superstar became the first player in history to have scored 700 club goals when he turned Casemiro’s through-ball into Man Utd’s second goal of the night.

Following a quick run from the left-hand side, Ronaldo smashed the ball past Jordan Pickford to register his first goal of the season.

United had a few more chances to increase their lead in the second period but remained cautious of Everton’s counter-attacking chances.

The victory sends the Red Devils to the fifth spot on the table, nine points behind league leaders Arsenal.
