Ronaldo plays outside the Champions League for the first time in his career this season with United. He was reportedly keen to leave Old Trafford in the summer in search of a club that could offer him a continuation in Europe’s most prestigious club competition. In fact, the 37-year-old Portugal international is said to be worried about his record. in the competition being overshadowed by longtime rival Messi. Messi wants to raise his ears for the fifth time this season.
He first won it as a teenager in 2006, although an injury that year kept him out of the final knockout rounds. Back then, he was at the heart of Barcelona’s success, winning it again in 2009, 2011, and 2015, two of which were historic treble campaigns. Now the Argentine hopes to win it with a second club and help Paris Saint-Germain win it for the first time in their history.
