Manchester United celebrated another victory in the Premier League with
birthday boy Rasmus Hojlund finding the back of the net once again, while
Alejandro Garnacho scored two goals. This marks only the third time this
season that United has achieved consecutive wins.

However, the joy of the victory was dampened by an injury scare involving
Lisandro Martinez. In the second half, Martinez had to be substituted due to
visible discomfort and a concerning knee problem. This is particularly worrisome
as Martinez had only recently returned to action after a four-month absence
caused by a recurring broken metatarsal injury from last season.
During a tussle for the ball with West Ham’s right-back Vladimir Coufal in the 66th minute, Martinez went to ground and seemed to have jarred something in his right knee. Despite receiving treatment, Martinez attempted to continue playing but was ultimately withdrawn from the match five minutes later. His reaction, with a crestfallen expression and burying his head in his hands, raises concerns about the severity of the injury.
In a show of sportsmanship, Coufal approached Martinez to offer comfort, and his replacement, Raphael Varane, embraced him before Martinez made his way towards the tunnel accompanied by one of United’s medical staff. Erik ten Hag, the manager, will undoubtedly be anxious about the situation and hopes that Martinez’s latest issue is not a serious one.
